Default Intake.

Pulled the intake tonight and sending it off tomorrow. I thought everyone said the top bolt was the hard one. IT was the easiest. One of the side bolts stripped out and became a #@@$@ to get out. Had to remove the exhaust to get some vise grips in there to remove it.

I am new to mods for my 04 DS. Does the intake being polished make that much difference or is it also made larger? With the modified end cap, uni filter, adjusted carb (per Mr. Horsepower) will the moded intake make much more of a diff?

You do not polish the intake and mrhp will tell u the same thing. When u pull ur manifold u will see that it is rough in texture. The reason is because when the air and fuel leave the carb to go in the intake the intake has to cause a turbulance with the air and fuel. If the intake is polished and smooth the fuel will drop out of the air and it will cause the motor to spit and sputter due to the fact that the air and fuel is not mixed together. I ported my own intake and it works great. You can take a look at my pics. to see the intake. But do not polish the intake. Leave it rough so it will cause a turbulance with the fuel and air. Hope this helps. Lance
