Read on ATV Frontier's forum that a DS1000 prototype exists as well as a 750 V-twin Outlander, the Outlander was seen by the dealer and one of his mechanics in the back of his trailer. The test rider was on his way back from a test track down south and stopped in the dealership, said he was headed back to Canada to test the DS 1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My cousin in Minnesota said that his neighbor's brother lives in Canada next to an engineer that works for Rotax. It seems that they have taken a 2000cc Rotax Type IV (Porsche 914 motor modified for airplane use by Rotax) and stuffed it into a DS frame. It sports dual Weber 44 IDF carbs, a Triad exhaust and puts out more power than even Gary (TVI) could handle.
Ok, I'm back to reality now. I was just looking at my 914 sitting next to my DS and thought maybe...

Rotax makes a 900cc V-twin motor which is used in Aprillia's crotch rockets. The motor is awesome, absolutely. Aprillia and Rotax are working on smaller versions for....whatever. A 700 Outlander is heavily rumored to be out by next fall. The 700 Outlander may be a V-twin, but it could be a single.
A new mid size sport quad could be a 450 V-twin, but that is years away. Someday the market could be ready for a 900 cc Outlander V-twin, but that would be years away too. Manufacturers make all kinds of crazy one of a kind prototypes, but the 900 V-twin motor does exist, I have seen it.
