I have a chance to buy a DS for $6000. It only has one tank of gas ran through it. Do you think this is a good deal? I am also a little concerned about the dependability of the quad. I curently own a modified Scrambler. I hope it is more dependable then that thing. I put on many miles and am very hard on equipment. My 95 scramler has about 6500 miles on it right now! THANKS FOR THE HELP!

To be honest with you the engine is very reliable and has been proven in many applications over the years. The rims bend easily,it is a heavy machine.is it still under warranty? There are many updates from the very first production run so if it is an early machine make sure they have been done.Their is something to be said for having a quad that is different from everyone else. A crowd gathers no matter where I park and the questions start. In my opinion 6000 is a fair price if its like new.

I agree, 6k is a decent deal. I don't really see how you can go wrong with buying a DS. I was worried at first, plopping down $6300 (bought mine in Canada) for a new quad. But, after breaking it in and hammering on it a few times, now I think, Money well spent!

I wouldn't go as far as saying that the rims bend easily. There have been reports of the medium grade and thinner rims bending. As far as the heavy duty rims, they should last just fine, unless you put your machine through severe usage, running low tire pressure or what have you.

I have put mine in the air many times and the wheels are just fine.

$6,000 sounds good. Make sure that this is a year 2000 production run, or if it is a 1999 production run, that all of the issues related to it have been checked out. You may want to contact your local dealer and ask them about purchasing the used vehicle and if they will check it out under warranty, if the warranty is still good.

Good luck,
