Default shifter position

I was finding it a little bit of a hassle to get my foot under the shift lever with riding boots on. so, I moved it up one spline on the shaft. now my foot fits under just right. but I have to lift my foot all the way off the foot peg to down shift. if I could go back like a half a spline. it would be good. anybody have this same issue? are the after markets the solution?

same problem here too. it is worse the bigger your foot. I have a size 13 boot and wear the alpinestar tech 6 and it is a pain. I have been told that once your boots are broke in better it will improve but I haven't seen it yet.

I have the same problem with my size 13 boots. I just ordered a new IMS/Roll Design shifter for my Baja. I'm hoping that it will have less flex than the stocker. If so, that should improve my shifting problems significantly.

Yea, raise it up a notch and it may need to be bent outward a tad to clear your case. You will get used to it with your mx boots and won't go back to the stock position and when you bend your lever of course put it in a vise and maybe a little heat.

I wear a size 14 boot and the stock position works fine for me. I noticed after riding Bombastics ATV this weekend (as he said he has his level moved out and up) it forced me to ride in a different position to shift properly. I have a feeling the shift lever positioning is more about how you are seated on the ATV than anything else.
