I agree, It sounds like a Coincidence as far as you CDI swap goes.
Double check your Cam -timing I have had my Intake cam jump a tooth, when my cam tensioner has failed ,and make sure your compression release mechanism is working properly. Also make sure all your valves are still working(one cuold be broke. The side to side slop is normal on the crank.

by backlash I mean the motor died and tried to run backwards when tring to take off.heres what I have found to be the problem , when it did that some of the casting webbing broke off inside(fron where I dont know),worked its way out the cluch side of the motor and wedgeing its self in between two gears therefore when it comes around to that spot ,wack, sounds like a rod going out. I'm going to see if I can find where it came from without spliting the case.any ideas on where to look donw thru the top of the motor?

Inside the cases, thier is very little. And what is in there is made of material that is way to hard to "break" off in small peices. Look at the clutch basket, you rings, maybe part of you Shims? teh starter gears? etc....
How bigg is this "Piece"??

a small piece and it was aluminum, I've looked over the whole thing ,cant find where it came from I'm going to look over the cluchs and basket again, where is the fastest place to get gaskets over the net? they could probably be reused but I would rather get some more.

I checked out the cluches and basket , nothing broke there, starter gear fine, you got me,where can I get torque numbers for going back together with it?
