Default Stroke vs. Bore

Strokers cant rev as high as a stock stroke, well they can but you will have holes in your case....

When stroked the wrist pin placement makes it harder on the piston skirt and is sometimes pushed into the oil ring which is only good for racing not riding every day..

Big bores rev slower and don't make the torque a stroker can..

Its best to have a good combination of bore and stroke..

I did many hours of research when i was thinking of boring and stroking my 289 in my stang..

Default Stroke vs. Bore

Sandaholic to answer your question. The longer rod you have the better angle you have on the hole. In other words, its straighter and less of an angle. You are correct, the stroke stays the same.
The more stroke you have, the more leverage you have. Think of it like a sprocket or gear advantage. Or better yet, ever try to arm wrestle a guy that has a 6" longer arm than you? You know what stroke can do for you then!!!!! Torque, torque, torque!!!!
