skidoofan a couple of questions for ya.
1. Do you run pump gas or race gas?
2. When you say "just like it is bouncing off of the rev limiter", do you mean it feels like a miss?
Opps, I need one more. When did it start doing this? Right after you piped and filtered it? Or did it run good and just start running bad one day?

I run 91 octane gas. It started doing this after I installed the pipe. When your getting on the throttle its just like its running out of fuel it coughs and sputters from the mid on up through the top. I think I have to try a bigger main jet.

maybe its just me, but that jet sounds extremly high for a stock carb on gas. i ran dyna jets on my stock carb and it wasnt but 185, im not sure what size that is with mikuni jets, maybe around 165 im guessing...............when u did your plug check test did u run the bike at full throttle for a long distance and shut the motor off before u idled down?

If you are at sea level to 1000ft I would run a 172.5 mikuni main jet and stock needle in the fourth groove down from top. Cut 4 links off the slide spring. This will make a huge difference on throttle response. If you are running stock carb leave your airbox lid on. The response is much better. It sounds like you extremely rich on the top end.
