Default bogging..

i am having problems with bogging near full throttle. i have modded my end cap and have tryed everything from a mikuni 165 to a DJ 200. my bike ran great before i modded it. i check my float level when i had my carb apart. i took my gas cap off when riding to see i had a gas tank venting problem. i also checked the diaphram to see if there was a hole in it. before i mod, i never remember hitting the rev limiter to cause my engine to bog and choke. i'm all out of ideas, what is wrong?

I would say stock needle 4th groove from down from the top and a 170 to 172.5 Mikuni main jet. That should put you really close.

i tryed a 170 mikuni with the needle in 5th position. i don't think the problem is responding to jetting because i tryed a 165, 170, 175 mikuni, then i tryed a 190dj and 200dj. all jets, same thing. u have end cap mod or another exhaust?? when u hit the rev limit, does it just stops reving higher or does it start bogging and choking?

What gear are you in? The rev limiter will make it stumble and burble of course, but not bog. If you're hitting the rev limiter it will be sudden, and will not quit untill the revs drop below 7700, with stock box

Yes but is it sudden? does it do it in top gear wide open going like 35 mph, or like 70 get what I mean like 4000 rpms and full throttle or 7700 rpms and full throttle. Mine will hit the rev limiter in 5th easily at say 3/4 throttle
