Default Ask Yamaha or Honda to do this!!!!

I was riding at the local park and met up with a guy who hasn't rode in three months. I noticed that he had a rotax pipe and found out he had a stage II kit. I asked him why he bought it and he said he blew up his motor, so he decided to upgrade while it was apart. The quad is only 18 months old, so I was curious what happened. He said he heard a loud bang and parts of the rings came out the tailpipe. He was very unhappy and tore the machine down and found that the top of the piston had broke, the rings were gone, a valve was bent, and the bottom of the jug was damaged. So he goes to the dealership and orders the parts. A couple days later he gets a call from Bombardier in Canada!!! They ask him what happened and told him it was probably a casting flaw. They also told him that it is so rare for people to order basically a new motor they like to follow up and see what happened. That is all nice, but then they said they would send him the parts for free. They apologized for the break down, said that their motors don't do that and hoped he would get it running again soon. So out of this deal he got a new piston, jug, head, valves, cams, and all the gaskets. To put it lightly, that is impressive for a company to have so much confidence in their machine to stand behind it like that.

Just thought you guys would like to hear that. That is the reason I ride a bomb.

Justin

Bravo for Bombardier. They build a solid quad. I hope they enter the 450 racer area.....I'm sure they will make some noise if they do.

blue250r,

Quads in the US come with a 6 month warranty, unless you pay extra or it is otherwise specified. Perhaps your DS has a two year warranty due to some laws / regulations or similar reasoning.

Entomber,

I would love to see a Bombardier 450 4 stroke, as well as whomever owns the whole Cannondale thing to re-release them with a vengence.
