Hey Tom:

I know Steve on a first name basis.
And I have no doubt that he will cut me a good deal when the time comes.
But they are 100% sold out of all DS for the season and no more are coming in till August when the 2005s will start arriving.

Meantime I thought it was a good idea to begin shopping for prices so I could go beat up on steve if I decide to order a 2005 in advance.

For what you get with the X package, it is well worth it. Especially for the way the suspension handles. Those shocks are awesome compared to the standard. Bartlett can probably corroborate that. Besides, getting the tach and the factory rev limiter that is set higher than standard is well worth it. DiSsideup and I ride all the same places and his rims are already bent up. My X was in the same path as his and have no dents due to the reinforcements.

I agree with the pipe, K&N and Jet kit first off. Then where you go from there?

Have fun and look to meet us at Sand Mtn in Sept for DS Days.

I don't think there is a difference in the rev limiter between an 04 Standard and Baja X model if that is what your suggesting. THey use the same CDI. Bomb did raise the rev limit a couple of years ago but that was for all DS650 models.

As far as the upper A-arms going back to steel I don't think anyone has a good explanation or can confirm this for sure. Nobody to my knowledge has reported breaking the current 04 aluminum ones under normal riding conditions. That is the only reason I question whether its true.
