question on fuels
#3
There should be a Research Octane Number(RON) and a Motor Octane Number(MON). Most pump gas is figured using the Anti-Knock Index, which is (R+M)/2. R=Research Octane Number and M=Motor Octane Number.
Example:
Research Octane Number:115
Motor Octane Number:106
(R+M)/2 so (115+106)/2 = 221/2 = 110.5 rounds up 111 octane
Example:
Research Octane Number:115
Motor Octane Number:106
(R+M)/2 so (115+106)/2 = 221/2 = 110.5 rounds up 111 octane
