Loosing a lot of Oil out the breather tube

I'd want to know what caused the failure.
If you leaned out due to a clogged main jet or some other fuel starvation problem that might have done it.
it probably can be re-nikasil'd for about $200 if scratch is not too deep. they will bore slightly if necessary to clean up scratches, then recoat back to original specs.

Sorry no Pics..
I just got back from dropping it off at a local shop. (CG Preformance) Chuck has a DS in the shop right now that he just put a Billet cylinder and head on, he is going to check and see if the guy wants to sell the original. I looked it over and it shows very little ware. If that doesn't work out My options are sending it in for the nikasil or putting in a sleeve and reboring, he will check pricing on both options.
Of coarse if this new found Cylinder at Chucks shop doesn't work, and anyone out there in DS land happens to have one they would be willing to part with at a resonable cost, feel free to PM me.
As far as the cause of the problem, I've only had the Bike a few months now (bought a lemon) it never has felt right or had the power of a stock DS. I've played with jetting, the plugs look a little on the fat side if anything. My fan did go bad during one ride and I had to limp back to the parking lot but I don't think that did it. This is a 2000 and my guess the last guy just ran the crap out of it before I got it.
Thanks everyone for helping out. That's what's nice about DS riders, always there when you need them...

Scooby, I will double check on the Billet Head, I know for sure the Cylinder is billet but not 100% on the head. The intake is Hugh, all custom ported with monster valves. I have no Idea what Carb he will be running but it looks like you could pour the fuel and air thru it.
Sounds Like the DS guys are come thru for me, I've had several generous offers
Thanks Guys

Ok Capewindy, tell them what you had done to it...I'm curous about the details myself. SO That was a slightly modified factory Head? What's your definition of Slightly?
