If you were purchasing this endcap what finish would you believe you were getting (Aluminum or Black?)

I'd say go with the aluminum one, simply because it would look better on the stock muffler (imo)

 

Thanks Bombrider I agree, but let me rephrase my question. Does the endcap in the ebay ad above appear to be aluminum or black? They don't give you a choice of finishes when ordering.

I am asking because I purchased it assuming it was aluminum. See what I recieved in my photo gallery. Do they look the same to you???

 

It looks pretty aluminum to me, but when you recieved it it was definately black. I dunno man

 

One thing I learned about eBay is never go by the picture! Always read the description and ask questions when in doubt.

The picture does look like a dull metal color, but when you compare it to the coloring of the lettering, you can definitly see the contrast. The description just say it is anodized, I mostly think of anodized as adding a color to the surface. Do the they do a clear anodizing?

 

Yes you can get clear anodized aluminum. But I don't know what finishes that they have for that end cap.

 

From that pic on ebay I would say it was black. the lettering stands out too much to be polish alum. I guess you got a black one doesn't look too bad from the pic.

 

I believe it's black also. I've also read on another forum that they had some extra black ones, and were selling them cheap.

 

If you buy off of Ebay, remember to ask lots of questions BEFORE YOU BUY - especially if the description raises a question in your own mind. Pictures are tough, especially with the differences in monitors. I think clues would have been the engraving, and the anodized description - Clear anodizing is pretty rare, certainly at that price. Another clue is that there are no refunds - again, you'd want to ask all you're questions ahead of time. Also, you could write a book on a discription with every detail - But consider this, its on Ebay - Ask Ask Ask and Ask some more. If they lie, they you have something in writing to back up your claim.

 

its hard to tell. I thought it looked more brushed aluminum to me. it would be nice if the description said black anidized.
