Don't mix and match jets and needles, if you run the dynojet needle then buy dynojet or K&N jets.

I have both needle brands now. I want both jet brands. Just to tinker & maybe find some HP.

Why won't they go together though?

Speaking of jets, I was looking at a dynojet kit for the DS, and they offer them in 3 stages. I understand the diference between the stages, like what they say they are for, But for these stages, how do the jets differ? I mean a 165 is a 165 is it not?

And in these kits, what all do you get, how many jets and is it worth it? Or should I just stay with stock jets?

The diff in the stages is that they come with diff ranges of jets. how many depends on the brand you buy, and they usually come with several jets, needles, springs etc. However you can save $40 - $50 if you know which jet you need and buy it seperate. That is what I did after getting a modded end cap. Instead of a kit for $50 I bought 2 jets for $5.

You might try your local Harley shop, I don't know of any online places.

Dennis Kirk, SLP, Performance Engineering to name a few. Just need to know which style, then go from there.

What "style" main jet does the stock DS carb take? I thought a Mikuni main jet was a Mikuni main jet.

By "Style" I mean the shape. I believe there are 3 styles that are not generally interchangeable, atleast not w/ good results. I don't have my Mikuni carb book w/ me, but there are round or hex head & also I think a smaller hex head, all of which run through the full range of jet sizes. If you take your old one out & go onto SLP's website, I believe you should be able to sort it out. If not, pm me & I will look it up.
