Backfiring through carb
Hi all
Just wondering if any of you can help with the following problem, events as they happened.
1 Fitted a Lectron 46 bike ran fine.
2 Needle seat ans valve on Lectron did not shut off and I hydrolocked the motor (with fuel)
3 Bike now back fires through carb and exhaust
4 Replaced stock carb still same problem
5 Checked inlet side of things and all seems ok no air leaks
Is it possible i have a bent exhaust valve or more probable is it possible for the cam chain to skip a tooth if the engine goes into hydrolock
any info will be greatly appreciated

Sure can't say that I've Hydroed a motor before, but I would be pulling the Valve cover and taking a look at my clearances on the shims. Run a compression check as well, remember to disable the De-Compressor. This will require pulling off the frone nose piece and the Fuel tank, but it's a simple thing to do. I wouldn't think that the Chain jumped a tooth but again once the valve cover is off you can check the timing marks at TDC.
Good luck, Maybe you will get lucky
