Default Chain noise

When at low speed, in a turn, the chain and sprocket are making some noise. Especially if I am in too low of a gear for the spped I am going. Is this normal?
It is at spec tension and I keep it lubed.
Thanks
Brian

Have you checked the chain roller just behind the drive sprocket? Ds's are very hard on roller bearings. If the roller bearings are gone the chain wil rub on the frame which is not good.

No, I did not check the roller. I just got it in September... I guess it has been about a year already. Wow time is flying. Anyway, I just got back from a night ride and it sounds like it's binding up. Not all the time. Just when i am going slow.
I will look at my manual to see how to check/replace the tensioner roller thingy. I have heard that they go quick. If it is bad, should I be replacing it with the factory part? Or is there an aftermarmket part that is better?

did you buy it used? if so, I would look at chain and sprocket wear.

My chain was rubbing pretty good on my case saver. I dropped a tooth on the front sprocket so it doesn't rub as much any more. I still need to grind that case saver down a little bit.

Most likely the chain roller. If you are riding in SAND...sometimes sand gets wipped up into the chain between the sprocket teeth and will give you a nasty sound. This only happens at slow speeds.

I had same noise. Used 2000 ds, chain and sprockets were shot. Replaced with good o-ring and new sprockets. Still have that noise, but only when the chain gets a little slack. If i tighten the chain, the noise goes away. But i think the chain is to tight then. I have had no problems with it doing that. If i here it, i just speed up or down shift. I think its just chain slap at low RPM from a loose or normal tention chain.

Im still uncertain on proper chain tention, but the noise is worse the looser the chain is. Like i said, i have no dammage or abnormal wear that i can tell from it?

Dave.

UPDATE
The chain WAS loose.
I bought it new last Sept. I was trying to check it myself and it seemed okay. I had my friend, who is about the same size as me get on and then I checked it. It was loose. So I broke out the tech manual and tighted it for the first time. Easy to do. It doesn't make the noise anymore.
I went riding last night for hours. It's a little dusty right now so we mainly putted around out in the woods. Had some fun. Love my Bomb
