Default tm 45 question

i just switched back my carb back to gas. well i took it out for a test ride and it ran great, no problems.then i got to cruising back to my house when it started cutting out real bad and i could smell gas a little. i let it sit for a couple of hours and came back and it started right up and ran like a champ, about 15 minutes later it did it again.....im wandering if has to do with that thing a ma gig that regulates the float. rwr told me i didnt have to change that back, has anyone else ever encountered this problem?

I always leave the oversized float needle and seat in mine even when I run gas. Maybe float is sticking???

seems if the float sticks i see fuel out the over flow, which would go with what you thought.

thebigshow,
I dont know if this will help you or not or if you already got it but its the Mikunt manuel for the tm45 manual link scrol down its in PDF format. this has helped me with dialing in my pilot and a couple other things. by chance did you look or replace you needle and seat to see if its clean? it almost sounds like some thing is sticking and if its not the floats or needle and seat then maybe the slide? the next time it happens if you can look down the carb to see if the slide is seated all the way down. if you were running alky B4 maybe some thing is wore out .Just a thought

what are your jet sizes? do you have the accelerator pump active? if your air/fuel screw is more than 2.5 turns out, you need to go down on your PILOT jet. how about your needle? what position is it on?

bigger.
