Default modded ds not much faster than stocker?

I don't know if I really saw gains with the TM45 when I went with it.

Go with an 11:1 piston and a set of cams and you won't believe the power. Yeh, you'll probably want a different carb then but, carbs are expensive and I don't think you will see the gains you will $ for $ than you will on a piston and cams.

Start by pulling the valve cover. Check your valve clearances. That is a very minor thing to do and you won't get into any trouble by just pulling the valve cover.

if you check out this thread, its where i posted about my starter crunching problem... seems it is one of two things, one way bearing, or the cam tensioner. If cam tensioner is up under the valve cover i could knock out two birds with one wrench and check clearances and replace/adjust cam chain tensioner.

o, and sandman i did replace the MBRP's with the stockers (dont know if it made too much of a difference but im gonna leave them off for now)

Cam chain tensioner is on the cylinder below the carb on the left side of the bike. Check On Dunes - I think they have a manual chain tensioner that you may want to go to.
