Default THE RIGHT SPARK PLUGS?

It was time to replace the plugs in my 00 DS, so i looked in my manual to get the right size. It said DR8EA. Got em, went to replace them, and i had DR7EA's in them. Put the new ones in anyway, runs the same, but after running hard RPM's it backfires slightly. Nothing serious, but enough to notice. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks.

gearsmoker,
where is it back fireing, exhaust or carb? what year is your ds? is it when you chop the throttle to slow down? I had trouble w/ mine when I first got it, back firing through the carb but it was bad.

just a Idea, check your exhaust bolts to the head. if they leak they can cause back firing.

It's a 2000 ds. Its backfiring slightly through the exhaust, after i let off the throttle from a high RPM. Everything is tight, it only does this with the DR8's. No biggy but just curious what you guys were thinking.

You can also try and turn the air screw out about 1/4 to 1/2 turn. This will add more fuel to the idle and low RPM mixture and it might fix the backfire.
