DS Days 04 just over a month away, lets get planning
#31
The cool thing about Sand Mt. is the hill is right in front of the camp sites so, we really don't need to plan anything. If you want to race someone you can easily meet up at their camp and head to the hill together in about 5 minutes.
Saturday should be the busiest day at the hill.
Make sure your tail-light works and you have a flag. Those are the two things the rangers will write a ticket for. Also, no glass (including beer botles). Fireworks are illegal (but, you will still see them.) You will need to get a 7-day camping pass. I think it is $10 but, I buy the season pass so, I can't remember. Oh also, don't drive fast around camp, they will ticket you for that too (I've almost knocked a few blocks off for this one. I can get a bit worked up when people drive too fast next to my daughter. No reason for that!)
Do plan on shooting the hill at night. The night is pretty fun at the hill. Great to take a beer up to the top of the hill and enjoy the view.
Don't plan on getting water out there. There are pit toilets that are pretty nice. . . for a pit toilet.
I would expect to see a few vendors there so, if you need a new flag or something you should be able to get it.
Town is about 20 minutes away. If you want to stay in a hotel, I'ld call now to make reservations.

Dsjobber,
there is no real schedule of events, but there will be a bunch of trail rides ( kinda cool to see a group of 15-20 DS 's on a fast trail ride thru the dunes) a BIG AIR jump off, some awesome bowling at one of the best full bowls in the country ( I think its called the super bowl) you can pull some serious G's around that one in 4th and 5th gear, lots of hill shooting and BS's and chillin and meeting up and putting faces to names, it will be a great time for anyone that comes out. I look forward to meeting all the new comers and hanging out with some of the best riders around- after all we're all DS guys! BUT we do extende the invitation to anyone that wants to compete on the hills and just have a great time with fellow forum members.

Thanks for the offer Matt I appreciate it.! Bye the way I sent your Gauge down today, sorry it took so long I have been distracted lately. It will be fun to hook up again up there. I hope to get a couple of weeks in of work before I go so I can do a few mods to the Rhino so I can stay up with you guys.

Well then it sounds like we will try and stay in the same spot as last time and I don't plan on getting stuck again. I will try and round up some tape and posts so we can mark off a spot but we are still a little ways off so we will have to see the final decision on who will be there when to know what to look for. Anyways like Major said it is going to be a lot of fun and I look foward to seeing all the new guys and all the guys that i haven't seen in a few years. Just down from Superbowl is a nice big bowl like area that I have been having a blast in. With the taller gears we are now running I only get into 5th on the back stretch. Big enough area where 6 or 8 of us can be going at the same time too. Should make some awesome video

Honestly to anyone that is thinking about going to this, think no more and start planning. I dont know what it is about this place but it is my favorite place to go. The first time I went it was for memorial weekend and we had an absolute blast. Then DS Days 2 was that labor day weekend and was even funner. Like the guys said, there is no real schedule of events or anything, the whole weekend is happening. Four stroke wars to me has always been a bit of a chance. You may get to race you may not, here I have never seen them step in and stop racing. For a few years now Jeffinrivercity has been the quad to beat and NOONE is yet to do so. Knowing Jeff like I do, he isnt about to let his crown fall easily. (sorry Jeff, no pressure or anything LMAO) What I am getting at, if you want to race, and not be stopped, this is THE event to go to. There has always been no doubt when leaving DS days who is fast and who talks the trash. To me thats what makes it so awesome. If the Rappy owners want to prove what they got, this is where to do it. I am not talking trash here, I am just saying between this and Aledo and now Paduch, if you want to see what your quad has got mod for mod, or going for the crown, this your chance, Rappy, DS, YFZ, that Honda thing, or V-force, this is the event!! Looking forward to seeing you all there!!
Tony hope to see you there!! According to DSa though, bring earpluggs, apperently I snore but I think he is full of it. It was Major doing the snoring LOL.
Sean, as for getting stuck, NOT going to happen this time! I was driving last time and let off, this time, we'll see what a 30' toy hualer rig can do in that sand!!!

I am thinking that there will be no getting stuck this year. Last time was a learning experience and that is one lesson I don't need a refresher in. . Anyways if we do get stuck we can just hook Majors bike to the truck and let him pull us out..... I am pretty sure that i wil have a bunch of ear plugs in the trailer so you guys can just have some of those. They are the little yellow ones that work really good.
I got my inline temp gage yesterday in the mail so now there will be no gessing as to the temp of the bike. That is one thing that aways worried me was the fan going out and not knowing it.
