Default Mod or Trade In?

I Have 2 01 DS650's one stock and the other not

I am going to sell the stock one for sure and either trade in the Moded one for a YFZ450 or Port Polish And Bore it to a 720. Would the 720 kit beat a 450r cuz i got beat up choke cherry by a 450r with a big bore kit and other things done to it and i want something to beat i mean flat out stomp on that 450r So What should i do?

Thanks

I've gotta think you'll be far happier with the DS in the long run for the big dunes of St. A's.

That 720 is a monster. Probably close to twice the HP of stock. Don't know what the modded R had in it but, the only ones I've seen give the big guys trouble are the ones that are lightened for drag racing and the ones that are using NOs. I doubt you'll run into many of the drag set-ups at Choke Cherry so, I don't think you'll have too much trouble.

How much are you looking to spend? The DS has several options, all which cost different amounts:

Team Pami - everything up to 760 maybe 830?

TVI - 720, 760s

HP Research - 730s, 800s, 70HP stock bore 650s, who knows what stuff they'll come up with next.

KMS Turbo - EFI Turbo setup, said to be like 80HP on an otherwise stock powered machine.

NOS - this can be fun as well when you really want to win.

i ran a few nitrous 450's this weekend the clock said they lost by a lot, i did lose to one on just engine but i juiced up and got him, only to find out he was on the juice, that was just running on the flats for fun. the 720 with juice is a handful, so if you really want a chance to win it's a good choice.

If I had the spare cash to make my DS big bore I would go with the new jug from HP research. I have watched far too many head gaskets changed at the dunes.

hp research and tvi offer 720-730, seems the bom has a line that includes a 720 class. but i'm not even sure you need the 720, i've seen some good running stock bore ds's,
