My dealer won't deal on Outlander

I just tried to get my local dealer(very large, 5 or 6 brands) to make me a deal on an '05 Outlander 4X4 HO. I told him that I wouldn't go over $6000 OTD. MSRP in Ca. is $6049. Do you think I am asking to get too good of a deal? I have another dealer willing to sell me an '04 for $5982 OTD. These prices seem a little high, are they?

Shop around!!!!!! I went to my local dealer and he wanted X for my traxter. I told him he had to come down because I would deal in cash. I gave him another chance and he told me no dice. He wanted MSRP plus a $300 setup fee. I walked out the door and never looked back.
I then called 5 dealers in my area. The first call netted me x-$1200. I could not beat the first call.
Bottom line, make some calls, you'll be glad you did.

Yeah, keep shopping around, i just got mine form my local dealer, MSRP was $5,999 and i walked with $6,100 out the door with an 05' DS. It definitely pays to be able to say no to these guys. Shop the internet and just tell em' to get as close as they can to the best price you've found. See what happens. I've talked my local guy down to $7,100 OTD for 2 more DS650X's for my buddies. If you're close to Orlando, Fl. Give Matt at Champions Yamaha (West Colonial Dr.) a buzz, he'll deal with you. Very good guy, the best i've found so far. Tell him Bill sent you. He'll remember my iritating ***. Lol. He really is a good guy though.

I agree. I have every Bomb dealers # within 150 miles of my house. I'm going to start calling Monday. Why is it that Ca. dealers are charging so much more for the quads than the rest of the country?

Some states have no state sales tax. CA is notorious for being an expesnive market to operate in, the regulations and overhead are substantial. If you can get MSRP OTD then you have probably done pretty good. I think Bombardier is a little selective with its territory and simply isn't a big name on the west coast, mention Sea Doo and everyone goes "oh yeah". Less dealers means less competition. Try LA Cycle center, they have good prices. Again, figure a dealer in CA has to factor in sales tax, quite a disadvantage over other states. Try looking up Nevada dealers.
