Kryptonite lock owners beware of the Bic
#1
This doesn't just pertain to the U-locks. The Bic pen can open vending machines, too.

I can't believe I threw my reciept away just last night! I went digging and found it.
I bought two of the key cable locks for construction , 6 bags of concrete, and two 10" stainless steel threaded I-bolts w/washers.
I went out to the barn and dug two holes. Filled them with 3 bags of concrete a piece and stuck the I-bolts in with the washer all the way down on the nut. Then, I simply drive right over thie stainless eye and lock it up. I also lock the two of them together.
Now I have to go and buy some Bic pens to see if my lock is a POS. It doesn't say mine is on the list of faulty locks. It has a barrel lock so I will have to try it out today.

I just upgraded my locks. I currently use an 'American' lock. The thing is built like a tank and can be re-keyed. I had two keyed the same and they work great. I got them from a local locksmith.

Can bolt cutters cut through it?
For that matter what about this cable lock I have? I wonder if regular bolt cutters can cut it. I should have tried it at the store.

I'm with you on that one, bayou. I used to be able to do the same things here. It seems that people from everywhere else liked my little town so much that EVERYTHING changed for the worse. What are you going to do? :-(
My friend had his quad stolen three nights ago- no key in it. Sucks.
I only pray these locks I have deter thieves from doing the same to me.

wow, that's amazing, thanks for posting about these locks man,
I have a Brinks lock - great big heavy cutproof for my cables - it uses a round style key, wonder if it can be hacked into with a pen too??!?!?!

what really stinks is no matter how good your lock or cable is a thin cutting disk on a cordless drill will cut right through it, if we could figure out how to prevent the theifs from rolling our quads,Ithink that would work,I sure would like to meet the two theifs that think they could pick up a ds 650 and load it in their truck.
I think tying a rabid pit bull to the grab bar would work best.
lot"S of luck guys
