As stated in another post, my engine don't want to play with us anymore. I have an '00 engine on the shelf that I want to use until I fix the stocker. Will my '04 X cdi work with the '00 ignition in the replacement motor? I would like to know this before I have the pleasure of installing the backup.

I would think the CDI would work. On the 02 Baja, and all 03 and newer quads have the new style cdi, basicly it was a plug change and higher rpm limit. The aftermarket cdi from RWR will work on all year, just the plug needs to be modified to work on the newer quads.

It's in and runs fine. All the plugs were the same. However, I had to change the oil preassure switch because that switch was different. Another thing was the oil line on the newer motor had a bleeder line hooked to it. I just plugged it and left it on the chassis so it's there when I put back the stock motor. My oil filters are longer so I had to switch oil filter covers to hold the longer ones. That looks like all they did for that. I hope anyway.
