NO need for clutch under HARD shifting I think.

Couldn't you gear it really tall (17/38)???

I think he is already running that gearing.......scary huh.

Yes you can upshift without clutching OR letting off of the throttle, bad part is that you can't downshift while the bike is rolling. You have to stay in that gear, clutch it, come to a COMPLETE stop, then downshift. If you don't do it then.... POP!!!!

Is there a need for override if you already pull those gears? I think override is for 300'-500'. It's all about hook up in drag racing. Some times you can have to much HP to hook up & lose to lower HP bikes.

It will make you faster but good for racing only. We only broke one tranny going down a dune & letting off the clutch. Never broke one other than that. I do pull in the clutch to down shift but do not come to a stop.

so you're saying a 1-3 override allows 3 clutchless shifts, launching in first gear?? only 5th gear you need to use clutch?? i thought you only get two clutchless shifts.

The last time I talked to Randall about the 1-3 override, he said you would be able to shift from 1st to 2nd & from 2nd to 3rd with no clutch. But he also said that from 3rd to 4th would not be in the override. But would be easy to shift from 3rd to 4th with no clutch.
