Well brick I never do it but you are supposed to shut off the fuel when not riding. Dont ask me exactly what happens, but the air compressor on my work truck has done this a couple of times.

After i empty the oil can and the motor when changing the oil in my ds650 where do i refill the oil in the oil can or the motor? what are the requirements?

Dont forget to change your oil filter also.Do you still have your manual?
There is also a screen type filter in the main line coming from your tank
make sure you check to make sure it is not plugged. What year is your ds?

I have a 2000. I bought it used i just do not know where to refill the oil or how much to use? I did not get a manual with it so i am kinda clueless about the oil change ifo. I know to drain the oil tank and the motor and also to replace the filter. I know it sounds stupid but i do not know where to put the oil?

Top of the big black oil tank on clutch side there is a dipstick unscrew and fill.
Mine takes a little under 3.5 quarts.I really dont think any ? is stupid. This is how
i am learning also.
Almost forgot the older ones sometimes need to be purged of air maybe someone else will fill
you in on that .Mine does not

This is a Fram Sure drain oil system installed on the DS650. You'll need to buy the Fram Sure drain oil system that uses the standard threads in 1/2-20. Then get a custom adapter to go from 3/8th inch pipe thread to the 1/2-20 thread. This makes getting the oil changed clean and easy.
I have this installed on both of my DS650s and it works great.
Blackhawk, can you clarify on the size we need. I picked one up today, 1/2x20. Why do we need the custom adapter from 3/8 to 1/2x20?Originally posted by: BlackHawk

Why would mine only take 3.5? That puts the level on dipstick right in between
the ridges. That is what im looking for right? I also check after a short ride.
