Default clearance on valves

ok i did a compression test earlier and got 100 lbs i didnt do anything with the decompression lever and i added 2 teaspoons of oil and got 170 psi so i thiught i had bad rings and started tearing it down, eagle gave me a bunch of info about it, thank god, i got everything lined up tdc and someone posted i should check my valve clearances that i might be that so i checked them and here they are the exhaust was,.005 on one and .006 on the other and i could not even get .0015 under either one of my intake valves for clearance, thats way too close right? but if the valves are out of clearance and i put a little oil in the cylinder and retest would the compression still increase or do i still have bad rings, thanks major, thanks for helping with the battery issue too, it is fixed and starts fine
