Compression test
#2
Well its one of those things that is not nessesary, but is recommended. In order to disable the compression release you are going to have to remove the valve cover. Now that its off you can see the cams, now on the cam closest to the handlebars look at the right side of it (right side if you were siting on the quad) and there the compression release sort of a small lever look'n thing that you can move in and out, you will see what Im talkin about. Take a tooth pick or something and wedge in it to hold it in place. Now do your compression test. Oh and dont forget the tooth pick

a mechanic told me i should have between 180 and 220 lbs of compression if it is still good, there is a spring behind the compression release, i cut a chort peice of rubber hose and pushed against the spring and stuffed the peice of rubber hose in the gap behind the lever then did my compression test, i got 210 lbs, i forgot to take out the rubber (one to many cocktails) had all my seat tank and covers back on and had to take them off lol good luck

This is only a guess...but here's what I think might be the reason.
First time you did the comp test your rings and cylinder had a good film of oil on them from the last time you started the quad. Then when you did another test some of the oil film was gone. And then on the next test even less oil film.
Im thinking this is also why when you first start your quad. Don't rev her up till she's properly warmed up. Hummm never mind I won't go there...LOL
