Trailtech computer setup
#1
Does anyone use the Trailtech? I am thinking about purchasing one, but am hesitant because I cannot find the installation instructions anywhere. Is this something that I can install, or is it a full on tear the bike apart job? Also can the unit be mounted directly to my bike or do I have to buy some special adapter? Thanks for the help, there are two of them on ebay for $65, and I would like to purchase one.

I have one. they are pretty sweet. the computer comes with everything you "need" in theory. Its not real hard to install. you just take off one of your front calipers and pull the hub off the spindle and remove the rock shield and replace with some nifty brakcet and replace one of the rotor bolts with a magnetic bolt put your hub back on and check clearance between pickup and magnet and then route the cable and mount the computer.. I would recomend getting one of their dashboards for your quad though. I have the one for Fat bars and use the Xbars on my raptor. Nice setup

Well, that 3 that like it. Guess i'll have to be the fisrt to give it a thumbs down. I used to say it was a great 75 dollar watch..lol...now I can't even say that.
When I first got it it was great. then a few months later the sneding cable went bad. Bought another all was fine. A few months later it started acting up again. So I just used it to see what time it was. Now it can't even do that properly. Been through 2 cables and 2 batteries.
My GPS cost more but hasn't failed me yet.

With mine all set up prpoerly, it works pretty good, just sucks when it gets mud on it and u can't get it off. Don't want to scratch the lense. Tape over it I find worked out pretty well. Also when it gets wet, the electronic tabs underneath short or something, and I think my top speed was something like 200 miles an hour according to it. just went nuts untill i dried it off. But what can u do eh?
