Thats how I initially started pronouncing the name (bom-bar-dee-ay), but was told that was wrong. Where did you here/see this that it was correct? I like the facts! That wa I can rebut somebody this time.

 

(bom-bar-dee-ay) is right. It is a Canadian company, therefore the name is French.(And the watercraft brochure I have says that this is the way it is pronounced.)

 

I finally found out that Bombardier is pronounced (bom-bar-dee-ay). I've been calling the thing (bom-bar-deer) ever since I saw it on a jet ski. Nobody ever told me any different so I guess all of the people around me are just as dumb as me on this one.

(bom-bar-dee-ay) is correct. They own a boat factory here in Benton Illinois

 

I learned the correct way to say it (bom-bar-dee-ay) when I went to Canada, now everyone here (Minnesota) thinks I say it wrong. heh oh well.

Thats because we have been pronouncing it bombardeer ever since those twinkie looking skidoo snowmobiles came around. I like saying bombardee-ay cuz nobody knows what the heck I am talking about now! (not that they did before anyway)

 

I also pronounced it that way until I heard a buddy say it the right way, (oh well )
