05 Oulander 400HO
#1
Hi, I would like to know all about the 05 Oulander 400HO up or down side of it like how good it is or bad in the muskey, mud, pulling tub trailer does it overheat when you worked hard etc......????
Why all this ? because I am looking for a smaller quad. I got the Yamaha 660 grizz for the last 2 years and don't like it why machine is to heavie,to much power and do not pull good with trailer behind in muskey I'm stuck all the time and smaller machine are pulling the same as I am without get stuck. I guess the machine are lighter and less power make a big differance on you stay on top of it or you dig yoursefl to China....time to trade that heavy beast....yamaha ha ha ha ha

well basically, the outlander is not much lighter then the grizz at 595 pounds or so.
ive had some seat time on an outy and I like it allot. They are really fast for a 400. The power doesnt kick in untill about mid. THe low end puch isnt quit there like other machines. IT has a top speed of about 55-57( ive only seen 55 on the speedo). The suspension is very smooth and makes a very nice ride. There is little to no roll in the body at speed. But from what i knoticed, the outy has a bit of a push problem on lower traction areas. not a big deal but if you turning tight the front end whants to go forward versis turning. Going fast down slippery trails you can also feel it. My praire 360 sticks to the ground much better in this area of riding. The brakes are very good. They stop really smooth and quick. The bad part about them is that you have a single lever and they get very noisy when wet. As a matter a fact, the outy is kinda of a noisy machine though. Crazy noises come about allot when riding(most of it is just normal though). That is a little of what i have noticed while riding the outy. If you have any questions i will answer them.
P.S. cant comment of reliability so far, only has a little of 200 miles on the bike but so for is a great 4-wheeler.
