Default Armagosa anyone there on 12/11&12/04 Sunday

Just wondering if you were there. There were about 4 other DS's out there besides our 2 X's. We also had the yellow Z400.

Default Armagosa anyone there on 12/11&12/04 Sunday

Hey do you change your jetting from Dumont, to Amargosa, I know it goes 800ft to 2400ft (amargosa). Im going to Dumont probably Fri-Sunday w/ our new toyhauler and truck.

Default Armagosa anyone there on 12/11&12/04 Sunday

I havent been to Dumont....YET! I do ride in Lake Havasu and its about 1000ft. Heres the deal.... I went to armagosa with my DS bone stock and it was great up every dune. Then I got my end cap, air filter and resetup my carb. I rode an 85 mile trip around the Havasu mountains and thought I was running great but I had no heavy stress on the engine....like on a dune hill climb. Then I went to Armagosa on Saturday and instatnly I noticed it was WRONG! It would sputter and crap out under mid range load. Was fine wide open and fine off idle. So that told me that the needle setting that the end cap kit suggested wasnt quite right for my setup. It said move it to the bottom notch to move the needle up (allowing more fuel). So I moved it up on sunday 2 notches. Then when I got back in the sand I new instantly it was fixed, It never even once acted up.

I would think your ok in that change of altitude.

Check your plugs now before you go, just to know if your already rich or lean, then I would be concerned.

I was there on Sunday.

Had the red DS that was beating the 450r's at the hill and was riding with a purple and yellow Funco Buggy.

I don't change my jetting between Dumont and Armagossa, but I will say that because I am jetted for Dumont and Vegas, that I am down on power somewhat when I go to Armagossa.

Nice DS, would have loved to see that thing run. I cant remember seeing yours out there. There were a few viper reds and a yellow one. Then there were 2 or maybe 3 Baja X's like mine and my friend's.

If you looked at my web site, that is not the DS that I had. That one is for sale and now has custom paint on it.

The one I had was an 03 DS. red in the front, black in the rear.

So you are the guy in one of my pictures in my gallery...right? Bottom left pic. If thats you, I noticed you were having problems at about half hill. What gear were you in and if you were in 3rd could you hold 3rd ok?

Our X's were holding 3rd to the top very well but at the very tip you might have to turn or downshift.

Hill pic

Here is a shot of the Red ds on the hill. I was on my friends Z400 at this time but I was right next to you and thought....whats the deal? That DS should be up by the X's. It was half hill and I just kept saying something happend to the red DS. Just wondering what was up with that. The Z400 got out there quick but as soon as the hill the X's go right by. Anyway, not bashing, just wondering what was up with your DS. The Gray Honda 450 didnt have paddles so the Z400 past that one up easy....wasnt fair for him. The Red honda 450 was doing awsome right with that blue banshee. That banshee had pipes and a who knows what else.

Looks like your 03 still has the stock end cap. Is it all stock so far?

That's not me.

I only ran the hill about four times and never lost a race.

I ran against a 450R each race and my buddies X in a couple.

I run 15/40 gearing and have absolutly no problem pulling 3rd all the way up that hill.

If you want to shoot the hill, drop down to a 15 in the front.

I also have an HMF exhaust (slipon), jet kit and direct mount K&N.
