I had an FMF exhaust, filter, rejetted, intake ported, and cut spring and lost to a HRC 450R. He was a bit lighter and It was close. 1-2 lengths. He got the lead with the hole shot and then kept it. He did not pull away at all. He also was a better rider. The race was up choke cherry at St Anthony.

This virtual DS vs 450R race, is it in the mud, up a hill or a sand drag? Or do I just have to win an arm chair race? If so, I would spend my $300 on a fast paint job.
Drag racing in the sand up a steep hill puts the DS at a slight disadvantage due to its weight. With an end-cap mod I'll guarentee the 450R won't shake a DS off of its tail on a highly spirited trail ride, assuming equally capable riders. The DS is easier to ride faster due to its amazingly smooth suspension geometry and comfortable riding position.
With that said, lite weights tend to not like the size of the DS.
