hey me and my friends was arguing how much will a ds with a fmf pipe and a k&n filter
what will be exactly the top speed?

 

Most likely the same top speed as stock if not slower. MisterHP did some dyno work on the FMF and it gains in the low to mid range, but lost some HP on the top end of the rpm range. As far as the airfilter, the stock one flow just as well as the K&N but most people go K&N for the reason of being albe to clean and reuse it.

 

Id say the same, u still have the rev limiter unless u get a CDI box so u cant gain rpms, the pipe and filter will give u the accelleration to get to that speed faster but thats bout it.

 

I've got a 2000 DS with a stage 1 Ron Woods kit. I don't know what it did stock, but at 7200 feet elevation it ran 73 mph gps and going and going....until I ran out of road

 

a 2001 DS650 stock wit a 200lb rider (cousin) clocked at 76mph
Baja and new models faster due to rev limiter change, and size if u wanna get technical lol

 

With 17/38 gearing and 22 inch tall rear tires around 100 mph

 

We clocked a 03 DS with stock gearing and stock tyres doing 75-76miles per hour with GPS. At this speed it hits the limiter. With 22" tyres it goes around 78 to 79 miles per hour.

 

100 mph???? no way men

 

actually its not so farfetched, stock the DS may have trouble getting up that high due to such high gearing, but put enough mods to push that high gearing and i'd bet it would come close...

 

the baja Quads are running in the mid to high 90's with head work CDI and Carb 100+ I have seen it and know people who race them.
