New light bulbs for mY '04
#1
I just upgraded the H6 bulbs in my main headlight assembly. I put in 35 watt H6 Xenon bulbs. They put out a nice clean white light. The stock bulbs are yellow in comparison. I had already installed 55watt H3 Sylvania Silver Star bulbs in the baja auxilary lights, those work great. I was able to get those at a local Checker Auto Parts store and I paid $40 for the pair. I found a better deal though,
http://www.rickystator.com/pages/bulbs.html. They had the H6 bulbs for $9 a piece and......They even have h3 55watt xenons for $9! The next best part is I called at like 11 am on Wed. and they showed up at my door step at noon on Friday! Got to love that. So now I have a full set of poor mans HIDs...lol

OK everyone.......what is your opinion on going up 20 watts each on the baja lights...........will it be hard on charging system? Pull to many amps, etc??
I would like to improve the lights as zoomer did, let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Chuck

No probs at all. I've run 100w plus 2- 55 watt trail tec lights with no problems.
The DS can produce 290w
What I did was wire in the 55's on the high beam and when I was in camp or just putting around used the low beam only. My thinking was in order to get 290watts out of DS you would have to have the rpms up. And you don't while in camp or putting around.

I went with bulbs that provided 110watts of light from only 55watts of power. Run them in all three baja lenses. I used the ones from a local parts store, but PIAA sells a bunch as well. PIAA even sells the purplish light bulbs.

The Sylvania Siler Star bulbs do the same thing. As do the Xenon bulbs from Ricky Stator. Spent more time with them last night and what a difference, much better! They are not HIDs but as close as I can afford right now...
