Just posting to see if anyone else has had any front shock failure. I was out at a friends house this weekend where we built a mx track this past week. Nothing too crazy, but we did build a 50' double. Only get about 5-6 feet under the quad, but long distance. The dirt is soft for landing and the ramps are near perfect for launching. We were riding all day and towards the end, I was doing about ten laps around just hitting the double, then hit the single which is about 4-5 feet high and when I lifted off, the spring tension snapped the shock shaft off at the top aluminum mount. Needless to say, when I came down, it wasn't pretty. The shock shaft has a 90 deg. bend in it and the rims are caved. The seals on the other one blew out too! Anybody else have any shock problems? Also, how hot are your shocks running after lots of jumping? Can't even touch mine sometimes. Front or rear. Seems kinda strange for the rear with a reservoir. My cousin has a 400ex with works triple rates and reservoirs in the front, and they don't even get hot to the touch after the same running. I think it is time for a DS diet.
