Can any one tell me the internal diameter of the water hose on the DS , As i am making a temp gauge holder that i want to fit in to the upper water hose.

I think it is 3/4" or 18mm ID but not for sure.

 

I have fitted a small inline water temp guage(heatseeker) and that is 3/4 inch and that was a tight fit in the hose from the top of head to radiator so i would say it is probably metric.Tucks in near tank out of the way but can see easily if i lean to right. Interesting that on my ds the electric fan comes on at 175deg compared to my raptor which was 200deg using the same guage which is now 3year old and works good. I think 200deg is too hot so i fitted a manual over ride switch on the yamy. On another note blue did the ported intake make a big difference or did you fit that at the same time as the endcap?

raptorgav , i would say the manifold made a differance right through the rev range and i had to jet a bit richer when it was fitted so it must be doing good if it needs more fuel. it was not as noticible as when i fitted the end cap and jetted as i did this first and that was the best money i spent. i have the full race port manifold $150 which eric says gives 4 hp on a stock bike I would have no doubt he is telling the truth, as he seems to be a stand up guy.
i am looking to upgrade the carb at the moment so i will get the full benift of the manifold.

My fan switch has died and so have two oil press switches Italians make nice shoes but crap switches, bombardier should start fitting bosch switches, i am looking fo an alternitive brand switch at the moment, i can get them off warranty but whats the point in replacing crap with crap
