Default I'm so confused about high compression pistons

i need a piston my bomb dealer says i wanted to stay stock i plan on getting a ported intake endcap and keeping stock carb, but everyone is telling me to go with a 11.1-1 piston would it help with what i am gonna do keep my stock carb get an endcap and ported intake or would i be better to just get a stock piston with the mods intake endcap? any advise ty fellas

If your bike already makes enough HP for ya keep it stock, if you want a little more (2-3hp) than by all means go with the HC piston. @ 11 or 11.5:1 you could still run pump gas ( premium). Personally I'd pump it up.....what are you gonna do? it will complement the mods you've outlined.

I had a 12-1 with race head and stock carb for a while, luved every second of it[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

if you HAVE to get a new piston it only makes sense to upgrade. i was in that situation and got the rwr 12:5:1 and run it on premium pump gas with a little octane booster on top of that to get away from pre-detonation. let me tell you that i cant keep it from bouncing off the rev-limiter and i love every second of it. never really rode the bike with the stock piston since it was crap when i bought it but i rode a stock baja and could tell the differance. something to think about. good luck.
