Somone said that you were selling your ds. I want to know why you would be considering selling, and what might you consider buying in its place? Why dont you like the ds?

New slides and bigger needles are in the mail back to the dunes this weekend. This should be my last trip I should be able to get the air/fuel correct this weekend. Then it is back to the Dyno to see how much it has improved. I will have dyno runs at stock with pipe and with pipe and Qwiksilver.

I got my DS650 back from the dealer and still do not have the water temp switch, parts on order. I have spliced in a kill switch so when I stop I just press it for 1 min to run the fan. I installed the new slide and larger needle. It is very easy to start and Ideals very smooth. I have one more larger needle I do not think I will need it. I am off to the dunes for Turkey day and will be back Monday. I will let you all know how it works then

I still need a larger needle for the Qwiksilver. I add the next larger needle with the new slide and it was way to lean. The new slide flows a lot more air so Edelbrock is sending me more slides. I was so close with the old slide it was just lean on top and just a little rich at idle. I installed the next larger needle but it just starts to work just below the full rich setting.

I need one more needle Edelbrock sent me all they had on hand but the one they did not send is the one I needed. The 24-E is lean and the 26-E is rich the 25-E is in the male. Then it looks like I will be out again this weekend and again during Xmas. Then back to Edelbrock after the New Year for final adjustments and dyno run.

1BEARMAN, How is the graydon carb working? I have not been able to get more peak power out of my HSR42 than the stock carb. The HSR42 needs custom parts in my opinion to work well with the DS650 motor. I have tried different needles and can't seem to find the right one.

Scooby,Graydon is having jetting problems and I agree there doesnt seem to be much if any peek horsepower gain.It idles smoother and the throttle response is great but we just cant get it right,at least not yet. They are getting some help from Sudco but its slow going,Sudco has a carb guru from Japan working with them so Im sure its just a matter of time before they get it right.
