I have a 46hv coming I am going to keep my air box but will not run the lid , i need the box as i have a couple of smallish rivers to cross on my way out to the dunes.
I also have mr hp end cap and full port manifold, are any of you guys running a similar set up, if so any advice or dyno charts you have would be apreciated.
thanks

blue250r i have the 46hv, race port intake, mrhp end cap, with the air box off with k&n air filter with a outwear. i gain couple of horsepower at peak but gain 8-10 between 4-6000 rpm. i am also running sand stars and the last time at the dunes it was a ball of fun.

I believe JDsBusa runs the Lectron with the stock airbox (no lid or snorkels). I also plan on keeping the airbox when I move to the Lectron since I trail ride. I don't think it would impact power that much. With the lid off and no snorkels it acts more like a shield than a constricting airbox. You should e-mail MrHP to get his thoughts on it. Knowing him he has probably dynoed with and without the airbox.

Some of the trails we ride in WV he have to cross large streams 12-15 times, I don't like doing it, but there have been quite a few times my front tires were under water with no lid or snorkles, and KNOCK ON WOOD it hasnt gotten the filter wet yet. Still makes me worry. That stuff sits pretty high.

I didnt want to hassle eric about tuning seeing as i have bought it used, But I just recieved a mail from him About it When he knows i already bought a used one, Hows that for customer service, shame there are no dealers/tuners this side of the atlantic that offer that kind of service.
JDsBusa
I wish I had your guts, the rivers i need to cross are usualy shallow but depending on rain and tides they can get impassable and even when they look ok there are somtimes deep chanels in the bed that you cant see untill you are on them. And because its running through sand you have to keep up a good pace and theres no turning back once commited, Unless walking is your preferd method of getting back.
I have seen a few bone stock 400 ex drowned in there, and they are pretty water proof.

I am pretty sure he installs some different parts on the 46HVs when used inside an airbox, so you might see about ordering up those parts from him. Or heck, if he emailed you then he probably already told you all that you need to know!

Yeah
i saw the stuff about the idle circuit for the 44 , but like the guys said i think its already on the 46
And im not going to use the lid so i dont see there being much restiction in air flow compared to an open filter. But if any one knows different speak up so i can be prepared and have all the info at hand when i get the carb.
Sandaholic hows the injection project going?
thanks
