jiminok,
My financial advisor says I can spend no more then a grand and that's IT!
I really would like to get the HV46, another CDI and some kind of upgraded exhaust but I'm not sure which one yet.
As far as my riding style......Well lets just say I don't have one.....I just like to play around, nothing serious.

I have been reading that the Procom CDI is crap
I'm not sure yet but I think I'll go with the RWR CDI. It should be good enough since I don't need to reprogram for my style of riding. However I think your right in that a carb, endcap and a good CDI is all I'll probably ever need.

I c your point about the rev limiter and where your power is made. ...............but a cdi also changes timing, along with raising the limiter. When you are hill climbing or duning, the extra 1000 revs you get can be the difference of being able to pull a higher gear or not. The last thing you want or need to do is downshift towards the top of a 700 foot hill. Ive had to do that and a miss shift can really suk in that situation. Also if you have changed the gearing in the ds it will pull much more than that stock cdi will let that motor go. just my .02$

Gearing? now we are talking about changing gearing? I guess with any sport that uses mechanical devices you can never stop improving and tinkering, almost to the point of obsession
