I get the plastic bead blasted and an elastomeric water borne primer put on then on this one I used House of Kolor silver base with HoK Nova orange for the flames, HoK kandy tangerine top coat with 3 coats of ppg urethane clear with a flexative added. The old plastic has a year and a half on it very few chips on it. That plastic we put on my sons 03 DS.

i made the mistake to just give new plastic to the body shop and ask for paint. bad idea they did'nt know what to make of it when the primer fell off in sheets then they tried to say that the plastic had magical powers and would never be able to be painted at all so listen to crazy painter because his steps work i know from tring the hard way.

Thanks! Pretty much the same as painting a plastic bumper cover on a car then? I wasn't sure if you went through any special step for an atv plastic or not. I've never done plastic bead blasting on them though, just sanded. Is there an atvantage to this step? I was planning on using one of House of Kolor's paints an my excursion but after figuring the price of the supplies I decided to go with PPG. They had a color that was pretty close, a green with a gold undercoat. I think I can aford to do the plastic though since it isn't much there. I want to use their candy green apple color with the gold undrcoat so it will match my excursion. Thanks again.
