Here we go....And I will take you up on the woods, of course I am not going to be on the ds. I sure hope that ex likes deep mud...I have never had any yfz or r take my ds, Motor and bottle. Tuning has alot to do in the way something runs. But I'm not going to argue about it, how about we all just go ride.

lol the new 400ex wants to be a 450r, its now heavier and is still almost as slow...the ds is big but i sure as hell can rip in the trails and yea they are small trails with lots of mud, hills, tree stumps etc. And the 05 looking better than the ds well it may look better in ur eyes but it dont in mine and its still slow slow slow.

The older 400EXs look better than the new ones, now they're just ugly like the 450R. I will say the 450R has a better seat than the YFZ450, the YFZ was a frickin' rock when I sat on it today. I dont think you could ride it very long and not have a sore ***, The Honda was soft but didn't have much padding meaning you sank through it and your butt would get sore shortly after the YFZ. In a MX race (what, 0.01% of the population that races those?) the seat wouldnt matter, however most everyone likes to go for a good long ride, and come back feeling happy. Only the guys riding the DSs right now feel like going for another ride right away, everyone else has to sit a veg to get ready for the next one.

I totally agree with you - the YFZ is a rock to sit on and you perch forward too! The DS is still the ultamate dune crewzer!

There are a few more DS guys in our group now so, we'll see if they ride more than they used to when they were on their other bikes.

Yesterday (Sunday) I went to the dealer to get some parts ordered (new style headlight, etc.) and since there was some guy chatting it up with the parts guy (he sounded like he needed the help) I figured i would go look at the quads they had in the pen. I sat on a YFZ and a 450R. When I plopped my butt down on the YFZ it felt slightly akin to sitting on a piece of plywood! I checked to make sure I hadn't sat on the plastic by mistake, but no, I was on the seat. For me the rest of the ergonomics were OK, but man was that seat awful! The 450R was much softer, the problem there was I sank through it and was sitting on the plastic.
