Default What's involved in swap to new model Aluminum Swingarm?

If I were to switch my swingarm to the new aluminum one, what all will I run into?

I know the shock will need revalved due to shorter length and lighter weight of the new swingarm.

Do they use the same bearing carriers, will my old one fit? If so then all my axle components are cool, but if not, what else is needed besides the carrier - brake hub, sprocket hub, etc.....?

If you've made the switch, let me know what you ran into...

Thanks!

You will need a 04 caliper bracket, shock mount bushings, and bolt. The pivot for the 04 is alot smaller than the 03 and earlier, so make sure you get an extra set of pivot bushings for your bike. The carrier and other goodies will slide right in, your sproket hub should be fine.
I put an 03 style long arm on mine, so I did just the opposite swap.

The pivot bolt is different but... The inside diameter on the tube where the bushings for the pivot bolt is the same. So, as long as you run 03 and older bushings it will work. The 04s have a brass bushing that is the same out side dimensions as the 03s, but in the 04s the have needle bearings on the inside. and run a smaller diameter axle, thus the hole in the fram is smaller. Just run 03 bushings and it is all good as the pivot bolt is concerned.

TCS did my rear shock and it came out great. I went longer so they put in a bigger spring and revalue for me.

Hightower.
Why do you want to swith your swingarm? I put the 03 long swingarm on my 04 baja as well because with the alum one the front end is very hard to keep down.
