Im about 6' and wiegh in at 200 lbs, the guy at the atv store told me that the 650 was going to be too much bike for me. Im 25 and have ridden since I could pull start my 70. I mostly ride dunes, Glamis to be exact. I love the idea of being different, I see too many 400,450, and banshee bikes on the hill. I want something fast but also fun. I dont plan on doing many mods at all for the bike. I have seen them in action and have ridden on 03 baja that was unbelievable. I dont need to be the first up the hill, but I do need to be able to tackle any dune that rolls my way. Thanks for all the good info.

Aaron

Well I can tell you AZDUNERAT, it is not to much machine for this 200 pounder, I was just in the dunes this past weekend and I love my DS, Nice soft landings just a whole lot of fun to jump and drag with. Yeah I will admit it is a beast when it comes to wieght but just look it over it is no toy the machine is built. I am one happy camper and have never regreted my decision

they're not too big for my 165 pound 15 yearold son or my _ _ _ pound wife (she is petite, but she'd still be mad) So size isn't really a factor. Maybe the salesman gets a better commision on other brands, Or a kickback on repairs when they get brought back.

Hey AZDUNERAT,
..DITO.. To what BigDaddy Said, ... I wouldnt trade my DS for anything else! I tend to end up ridding behing some fast rails cuz I cant find many people that want to ride hard and fast. the garbage that i have to ride throught after theses rails can get nasty but with the DS it ant no big thing! Im 205 and Not quite as tall as you but anything else just wouldnt feel right. The DS is N O T too much for you unless its your first quad. Hell he prbably wants too sell you another quad that has a better profit margin to go in his pocket ( same as what Crazypainter said)!!

Good Luck ... JP

Well I feel better now. I think my mind is made up, now its just a matter of saving the pennies and not letting the wife know what im doing. BTW what hub type is the DS using. I ask because I really dont want to have to buy my paddles and smoothies agian, but I think I will have to.

Without a doubt, be another DS, i like the X, plus the new ones are smaller/lighter. I hate the feeling of hovering over a machine im riding, thats y i didnt like the 400ex, YFZ, Raptor, or Z400. Im only 150lbs and love my DS, i can thro 'er around no prob, a lot of other riders limit the DS to only suitable for the big boys, but thats just an excuse for them saying they cant handle a big mean machine
