I am getting ready to enter the market for a new quad. I have always liked bombardier, used to ride my dads old Canam. I was wondering before I agreee to drop the 7k for a bike what everyone here thinks. I know you love your rides but if you had to do it over again would you do it the exact same or would you change something. I am not in any hurry for a bike, im just starting the process.

Depends on what type of ATV you are asking about. I suspect you are asking about a DS 650 since that is what most people on this forum ride (as opposed to utility ATVs). If that is the case, then yes I would buy a DS 650 over again, because I have been there, and done that. I bought a 2001 DS and loved it, then I bought a 2002 DS Baja and liked that even better. Then I went the way of the Raptor and V-Force for a few years, and finally decided to just buy what I knew I had liked before, and bought a 2005 DS 650 Viper. I love the DS, it is built strong, runs great, requires very minimal tuning to set up, and is just a kick to ride. The DS is my desert racing toy, and nothing else I have owned works as good.

If you are asking about utility ATVs, then I would say no I would not buy another one. I have a Prairie 800 now, and yes it is the fastest utility ATV I could buy, and it is the best handling utility ATV on the market, but even the fastest and best handling utility ATV on the market handles like a dog compared to a good sport quad, or especially compared to a bike. Someone needs to build a better handling utility ATV before I buy another one.

Sorry I really should have clarified. DS650X is what im looking at. I probably wont pull the trigger till year end to see what deals are on the market at the time. I currently ride a Warrior 350 and am looking for something that i wont have to Mod too much and doesnt require much tweaking at all. I dont understand spending 7k for a toy just to have to dump another 2k into getting it right. If that were the case I would just buy a cannondale

Best ride on the trails.
Pain in the a$$ to get parts for them, though. You have to wait for them to be shipped from Canada because there is usually little or no inventory at the dealers. Aftermarket stuff is scarce.
Overall a great machine.

Without any hesitation I would buy another. Nothing has made me think twice about owning one. Nothing on the market has made me think I might like it better. Got the best - don't need the rest!

For more than 2 1/2 I've been posting on this forum, and thought that I had seen it all. This Subject REALLY peaked my interest. Most say, "Do you like your quad", "How good is it?" etc. etc. Would you buy again?........ NICE!

GOOD QUESTION!!!!!

I think that there are several factors to take into consideration. Some of us can't get anything else, because we dwarf other bikes. Some of us, only do desert racing and it's a very good quad for that purpose. Some like the DS series for suspension/comfort above all else. Many will trade the larger size for comfort in every type of riding.

I would HAVE to buy another DS, for the simple fact that I'm 6'10", and feel like Andre the Giant on anything else. I would qualify that by saying that if I were a normal sized human, I'd look at other bikes as well. For example, I've ridden Z400's and TRX 450's and I like them both. I built a z400 motor with simple mods and the thing is torching stock TRX's up the hill. I think that if you are "normal" both bikes offer an awful lot of comfort and go. I don't like the YFZ due to it's HORRIBLE ride and uncomfortablility. Would I look at the DS line again? You bet your independent front fenders I would. SUPER SOLID, SUPER COMFORT, SUPER POWER. The only thing that I don't like is the almost non-existant aftermarket for the beast. Not many companies make alot of parts for these machines. Hop-ups are few and far between and VERY EXPENSIVE. The good side is that these things are about as reliable as the summer heat here in VEGAS. You know that it would be cold in VEGAS crawling through July, and you know that the DS will run like a raped ape for a LONG, LONG time.

Good luck with your choice.

Bigdaddy

i DEFINATLY would buy a ds . but i would put some seriuos thought into buying one a year or 2 old with tons of mods instead of brand new. im usually the kind of guy that say's real rides are built not bought , but you can save alot of $$$$$ that way
