Clutch Problem
#1
I just got done outfitting the water pump with some new seals after it was leaking like crazy. Put everything back together and started it up, runs great, but when I pull in the clutch and shift down, it stalls as if the clutch isn't really grabbing. When I pull in the clutch lever, you can feel that it does grab. What is going on? Should I try adjustment down on the case and tighten that up? try moving the clutch actuator on the case? Replace the clutch? Please give me some ideas, especially if you have had the same problem. I'm freaking pissed right now.... that was like two hours of work to not be able to ride.... my new exhaust is to get here in two days as well, so I want it ready to go by then. Thanks in advance

I had to replace the water pump shaft and seals twice on both my bombs. The second time was from using molly GN during assembly which must have had some abrasive that ate the new seals and shaft. Anyway, it takes some trial and error to get the splines to line up correctly and have the arm at the correct position. It sounds like this may be your problem. If I remember correctly when you release the clutch lever there shouldn't be much tension on the actuating arm, if there is take off the cover again and re-position. I believe that when its back together the arm should point to about the 1:00 position.

I just had mine apart the arm is in the 1 oclock position and the teeth in the actuater should point straiaght back. I also adjusted the clutch so I had maybe a little less than 1 eighth play at the lever.
