Horsepower Research 800 has been perfect!!!!
Well it has been a long road for me and my DS and I am very happy to say that this 800 Rocks!! It is by far the best engine kit I have had. The power is everywhere, there is no lugging or running out of steam on top....I have run this thing HARD!! right from the start and it has not missed a beat.....If you are looking to have any motor mods done to your DS, I completely recommend Horsepower Research!! They have been top notch people to deal with throughout the entire build....

Cool thing about this motor is acts like a stock one...The power is there at all rpms.....Although my quad is mainly set up for draggs, it can easily handle a dune trip......After racing at 4SW Eric (Mr.HP) and I went on a hour long dune ride on the way back to camp.....Not too many of the bikes that raced that day could do that.......

BigBaja:
Great to hear.
It is tough to see how excited you are on the screen but, I know you must be crazy happy with your other kits not working out for you in the past. To finally have a kit work . . . what a relief it must be for you.
That thing doesn't look at all like it did a couple years ago. What a transformation.

I think the closest 800 to those parts of the US would be in Kentucky. But the good ole boys from Kentucky can correct me if Im wrong.
The closest 830 to those parts would be in Missouri.

Baja, I know how you feel.... kinda. My 730 displays many of the same great things. Power everywhere and never falls off. I can only imagine that your 800 is that much more. Another 70cc's would be very nice!
Entomber, I'm not sure what cams Baja is running but I would assume that they are the HPR 5's. I'm running the HPR 4's and I have power everywhere. I also believe that BAJA has the new race head (as I do) and the valves are huge.... 40mm on the intake! The porting is sick and the head flat out works. I believe that the head pretty much bolts on 10 - 12hp on top of everything and anything you already have.
Baja, aren't you in the 75 - 80hp range? That, with a huge weight savings puts BAJA at the top of the food chain. I'm not sure there is much difference between his bike and the bike that Bomber took home KOH with this last January. Baja, are you running NO2?
I know what Bombers bike put out at FSW and I think I should be about 5 - 10 ponies higher on the juice. Then again, My bike is no where near as light as his. I think that I've only shaved about 25 pounds off mine. I did do well on rotating mass though. With BAJA's help, I was able to shave down about 7 pounds.
Glad to hear it BAJA. Hope to ride with ya soon.
Oh, and my bike is nothing but dune-ready!
