Mud
Hello all, I am new to the DS 650 and on my maiden voyage I had a few problems. I live in southwest Virginia and ride in the mountains here and in southern West Virginia. We have had alot of snow and rain over the winter and the ground was rather muddy. Along the trail we had to cross a number of rivers and pass through quite a few mud holes. The DS got "hung up" a number of times on the center of the rear axle at the sprocket and brake disc obviously due to limited clearence. Has anyone had similar problems and what did you do to remedy this? I have considered changing the rear tire to 22" maxxis razr2. If I do this, will I have to regear to make up for the difference? Would this adversly effect the handling of the quad? Would I need to change the fronts as well? Would there be enough of a clearence gain to justify the change? Besides this amolity I love the quad excellent power great suspension comfortable ergos, a blast to ride.

I remember reading somewhere on this board some guys who run the baja riding on I think 25" tires. I had thought about that a while back. We ride up a wagon wheel in WV mostly, and you are right, it gets bad up there. One creek trail up there, you must cross the same large stream 15 times..

Yes, alot of that is getting rough ,being "over rode" I think. I live in Richlands, Va., about 30 min. west of Bluefield. Give me a shout when you are coming up, we normally get in 110 - 125 miles in a day. We ride from one end of the county to the other and back. West Virginia, 4-wheeler heaven, ya gotta love it.
