From what I understand, stroke makes more power and lower RPMs. You don't have to scream it to make power. Stroking also produces torque. Look at Bigbaja's gallery page and compare his dyno from a stocker to a 800cc bike. The gains are immense. As my buddy who owns a Baja said.. if ya got a Stroker DS.. I'd be king ding-a-ling around my area.
Wonder how bad it would suffer WITHOUT the larger valves.

My 730 has plenty of power down low, I think allot has to do with your cam selection. I am running some of Eric's intermediate grinds, HPR-3 I believe.
Unfortunately the 800 cylinder has a different skirt then the 730 skirt, so that means that you can't buy the 730 and simply swap out cranks to make it an 800.
I would think the 800 would be chocking with the stock valves.
Squatcher, I would love to see some of your 730 dynos. To my knowledge, none of Eric's 730 have been on the dyno.

When building a stroker motor, if you have to machine the case its not really a big deal because you have to split the case anyways to remove the crank. Not having to machine the case on the 730 makes life way easier, you simple swap out one jug for another.
Yes, capewindy did have the first prototype 730 cylinder, I am curious to see the dyno's on the production 730 jug/piston combo. I also believe capewindy had a mix of parts in there from various engine builder.
